Poker Night
Posted Thursday, July 2, 2009 12:29 PM

After football season it was time for poker. We had some great games and a lot of good memories. Kavanaugh always lived on the edge and as a result it was worth the price of admission just to see him sweat. Mardis can tell the story better than I can!

Mitch Mardis, Bruce Bradford, John Richards, Gary Kavanaugh and Craig May.
Notice my chump change in the foreground compared to Mardis and Kavanaugh. Bradford trying to buy another hand with his parents MasterCard.

"The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed, if not for the courage of the fearless crew, the Minnow would be lost. "

In poker, 3 Aces would be your friend...in the game of "In Between"...3 Aces will "screw you".  If you get 2 Aces, your "best friends" will wish the 3rd Ace upon you and pray for your prompt "screwing."

In the last century (between 1978-1979) all of the stars aligned for the several young Bucs...the result...3 Aces for Gary Kavanaugh, several hundred in the pot, and a lot of chirping by the vultures (best friends).

In the end...Gary got all of the money back (and then some)...and the vultures(best friends), went home penniless and dreaming of the next "big pot".

Truly a night to remember for a few from B'Wood!

Bruce,

There is nothing better in life than seeing someone who thinks they've beat the house fall flat on their face. The look on Kavanaughs face when he lost that pot was priceless. Thanks for being a part of those memories!

Chris
