I'm looking over this list of missing classmates and it is just hard to believe it could be so long in this day and age! Will you please look at it with me and let's see if we can find some of these folks? In some cases, as in the case of Mr. Keith Acuff..he is my FB friend so he is not really MISSING! But, he isn't registered on this site. I copied the website link and send me a DM on FB and asked him to join. Maybe you will find someone else like that.

I would like to make this forum very active in the next few months as we approach our reunion. I am looking forward to it and excited to see you all. You are probably like me and nervous about not recognizing people! After 40 years things just are hanging the same anymore right? LOL All the more reason to connect ahead of time and see all those beautiful faces in advance so when you come face to face, you will be reaching out for a big ole hug (and kiss?)! :)

I LOVED Kevin Abbott and tried looking for that guy but I have no clue. Isn't there anyone out there that knows his whereabouts?

Sometimes you can just Google a person and what you know about him/her and you will get a hit. If you know anything about Kevin that would help me find him, please email me at rivervalleytx@gmai.com or send through this forum. Let's not send too much personal info through the forum but general info is ok! I would love to get a phone call too if better for you. 979-255-0702. Ok, I'll be back in touch soon.

2014-08-31T23:18:25-04:00Time to sign up for the 35th reunion!!RE: 30th Reunion Memories
You know what I was thinking? Your oldest friends are REALLY the ones you know best. When else in life do you have that kind of time to get to know new friends...with work, marriage, kids, grandkids??

I had the pleasure of staying with the Linders along with Wally T. I swear we only got about 7 hours of sleep total all weekend. We never missed a beat. I used to spend hours with Rene, Lou, Tonya...they know me better than anyone. What a blessing all of you are to me. These are tried and true friendships...the best.

AND an added reunion bonus... going back and making new friends, getting to know people in a whole new way. Donna and Teresa, I so appreciated the time we spent on Friday. It made me wish we had had the chance to know each other better earlier. You make me laugh!!!

Paul, I was glad I was able to hold it together to drive you home Saturday. And I'm really glad I didn't get a speeding ticket. Damn, I like to go fast. Your place is AWESOME, your bathroom was really nice too. I was thinking I was going to have to find a tree but you were very generous to let me sneak in the house. I'm so thankful, you didn't go to bed and you hung in there with us. Hope we didn't tear up your place too much. Did it look like a bunch of hogs had rooted it up on Sunday?

Mitch, Belinda and the rest of you, class act, well done. Sorry you have had to take the load on year after year. Guess you should've moved off!! LOL

Chris Waples, you are amazing. Thanks for giving us this forum. I know I speak for everyone, we are grateful.

Steven Lee, thank you for driving me around. I'm still alive today and have you to thank for it.

Lastly, I was thinking about the coveted BREEDER'S CUP AWARD I was honored with for a second (or third) time in a row. Do you think we could discontinue that award cause I'm thinkin nobody's gonna beat me out of that one from here on?? Love and bless you all, Lori Brown

It was great to be a part of this "re-bonding" experience. It was especially exciting for me to see day 2 of a Reunion...I liked it so much I think I will swear off Tequila for another 5 years!

Thanks to Terry Mills for helping me through BYOB on Saturday night.

Thanks to the unnamed ladies who educated me to the special benefits of pineapple at the Saturday night after party.

Lets set a goal for 2014...if all of us bring 1 classmate who missed this great event...think how cool and crazy the next event will be.

Paul G....I want a tractor like yours when I grow up!

Final thought...I still am in pain from watching Mitch do the splits Saturday night...thanks for keeping us young my friend!!!!!!

2009-07-01T22:37:30-04:0025th Reunion MemoriesRE: High School Sweethearts
If you can believe it, I was a rather shy and unassuming entity in high school and never really dated anyone until I was in college. I do remember one experience however with, let’s just call her Betty Sue, that just about sums up my luck with girls in high school. I had an MGB convertible my freshman and sophomore years. It was a very cute car and even though it only had two seats we were known to get five guys aboard (it’s a wonder we are even alive today). Anyway back to the story. Cathy asked me if I would come by her house and take her for a ride one Saturday afternoon. Man, I washed and waxed that MGB, put on some Hai Karate aftershave and picked her up. Asked her where she wanted to go (hoping she would want to watch the submarine races at the lake) and she began giving me directions to this street and that street, telling me at certain times to slow down or stop. It didn’t take long to see that she was having me drive by other boy’s houses so she could show off in the convertible. That’s just the way it was for me back then.

Ahhh..., the memories. I spent a lot of time talking to Mr. Slade. Matter of fact, I was just telling a group of educators a story about him last night. My brother, Mike, is 3 years younger than me and when he showed up for his first day in 9th grade, Mr Slade sought him out that morning and asked him if he was my brother. Mike was taken aback, but admitted that he was in fact my brother. Mr Slade then asked him if he was going to cause him as much trouble as I did and basically scared my brother to death.

I wish he were still around. I'd like to thank him for trying to teach me some of those lessons that I just wasn't ready for in high school...

What can I say about Dr. Bettoney?
Perhaps one of the most colorful and unusual teachers ever! I remember that he always rode a bike to school. That in itself is not strange, and in fact today would be applauded. But Dr. Bettoney would ride that bike come rain, snow, sleet or gale force winds. Surely there had to be a reason, world peace, reduced reliance on foreign oil, save the owl? I asked him one day why he always rode his bike. He responded that there was no great cause for which he rode, he was just afraid of getting hit by another car when driving.

Now maybe this is just Aggie logic, and I don't have a PhD, but if I was afraid of getting hit by another vehicle, I think its better to be in a car than on a bike!
